“THE DEVIL LIED AGAIN”
-Bishop Michael Joyner
THE MAN.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Apostle Michael D. Joyner is one of eight children of the late Pastor Francis Joyner. From an early age, his life bore the markings of divine purpose. Though the enemy sought to derail his destiny through severe illness, the fervent prayers of the late Bishop G.K. Baxter and devoted family members ushered him into a miraculous journey from sickness to health—becoming the first of many prophetic confirmations spoken over his life.
Rooted in faith and shaped by legacy, Apostle Joyner was raised in an environment where service, sacrifice, and reverence for God were foundational. These early experiences cultivated his resilience, humility, and deep respect for spiritual authority—qualities that continue to define both his personal life and leadership.
In August 1992, Apostle Joyner married Evangelist Pamela O. Joyner. Together, they have built a family grounded in love, faith, and shared ministry. They are the proud parents of three gifted children—Donovan (Jennifer), Doriel Joyner-Jackson (Ahmad), and Dondre—and grandparents to six grandchildren. Family remains central to Apostle Joyner’s life, and he takes great pride in nurturing a legacy where faith is lived authentically and modeled across generations.
Despite his apostolic assignment and extensive leadership responsibilities, Apostle Joyner remains a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Often declaring, “The devil lied again,” Apostle Michael D. Joyner has answered the call of God with obedience, integrity, and unwavering faith. His ministry is rooted in the unadulterated Word of God and marked by a prophetic grace that encourages, empowers, and challenges believers to live beyond limitations. With a deep commitment to authenticity and accountability, Apostle Joyner’s leadership reflects a ministry that is both Spirit-led and structured for impact.
Apostle Joyner faithfully served at his home church, Manning Deliverance Temple in Manning, South Carolina, under the leadership of his mother, the late Pastor Francis Joyner. There, he labored diligently as Youth Pastor and later as an Elder under the leadership of his sister, the late Pastor Jacqueline Fulmore. These formative years laid the foundation for his pastoral heart, apostolic insight, and deep respect for order and spiritual covering.
In January 2008, Apostle Joyner obeyed the voice of God and united with Holy Temple Church, where he served faithfully alongside the late Pastor Emily M. Nesbitt. As a divine supporter and trusted leader, he helped advance the vision of the ministry with humility and faithfulness. He was later ordained as Pastor of The Divine Deliverance Covenant Fellowship, formerly known as Holy Temple Church, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
Under his leadership, the ministry transitioned into a new season and relocated, emerging as The Divine Deliverance Worship Center in Conway, South Carolina. As Senior Pastor, Apostle Joyner has cultivated a culture of believers from diverse backgrounds who understand that their backstory is not their ending story. His ministry reflects a progressive approach—bridging generations, embracing innovation, and equipping believers to walk boldly in faith, purpose, and accountability while advancing the Kingdom of God beyond the walls of the church.
THE MINISTRY.
THE MANDATE
Apostle Michael D. Joyner’s apostolic assignment extends beyond pastoral leadership into the sacred responsibility of succession and stewardship. In 2011, he founded Deliverance United Fellowship of Ministries, serving as its Establishmentarian and Presiding Prelate, providing oversight, structure, and spiritual covering for churches and leaders committed to Kingdom advancement.
After nearly fifteen years of faithful pastoral leadership, Apostle Joyner was affirmed as an Apostle by the late Bishop R.D. Graves. In 2020, Bishop Graves appointed him as Second Vice Bishop of Deliverance Temple Restoration Ministries (DTRM), entrusting him with increased responsibility in strengthening the fellowship and carrying forth its apostolic vision.
On August 9, 2025, Apostle Michael D. Joyner was formally enthroned as the Presiding Prelate over Deliverance Temple Restoration Ministries, marking a pivotal moment in his apostolic journey. As successor to the late Bishop R.D. Graves, he now carries the mandate with clarity, humility, and forward-thinking vision. His leadership is marked by unity, continuity, and reform—honoring the legacy entrusted to him while strategically positioning the reformation for future generations.
Through this mandate, Apostle Joyner continues to advance the Kingdom of God with structure, innovation, and prophetic precision—strengthening churches, developing leaders, and ensuring that the torch of faith is not only carried, but elevated.
